Qikipedia is an open source browser extension for Chrome that allows you to highlight text from any website and shows you a summary of the corresponding Wikipedia article, if one exists. It has the following features:

  • Highlight up to 7 words
  • Dark theme available
  • Multiple languages supported

Qikipedia is not affiliated with Wikipedia or the Wikimedia Foundation. It was created by BitSpice, a software development company based in Ahmedabad, India.

The name “Qikipedia” is a pun on “Wikipedia” and/or “Encyclopedia”. It is also borrowed from the account name of the Quite Interesting (QI) twitter account. QI is a BBC quiz and comedy panel show that puts celebrities and comedians general knowledge ignorance to the test.

Qikipedia is a useful tool for learning new things and getting quick summaries of Wikipedia articles. It is also a fun way to explore the vast knowledge of Wikipedia.
